Method is a geometric sans-serif typeface rooted in historical references yet designed with a modern sensibility. Inspired by Lining Gothic No.82 and an unusual 'g' found in Barnhart Bros. & Spindler’s Specimen No.9, Method reinterprets early 20th-century American grotesques with clarity and precision.
Built on a low-contrast, geometric foundation, Method is characterized by its high-waisted proportions, particularly in round characters and letters with horizontal bars. These lifted apertures—seen in C, S, B, P, R, E, and F—give the typeface a distinctively crisp and upright appearance, while near-perfect circles in o, b, d, p, and q reinforce its systematic construction.
Open counters, sharp horizontal terminals, and right-angled details in t, f, r, y, and j add to Method’s clean and minimalist tone, while also enhancing legibility across sizes. The result is a typeface that feels airy, fresh, and highly structured.
Originally drawn from a single historical reference, Method has grown into a full-featured family ranging from Thin to Black. Its versatility makes it suitable for both text and display typography in editorial, branding, identity, and digital interfaces.
